DESS® products are conceived based on the Pure Switch philosophy, which means they can seamlessly be used to replace the OEM's. The interchangeability ingrained in this concept gives the professional a great deal of flexibility, as they can use both the original product and the DESS® product without losing any of its features.
The Pure Switch responds to the need to create a prosthetic solution that can fully replace the original without compromising the quality or strength of the product. All DESS® abutments are tested to guarantee their correct functioning.
Following this idea, the backbone of the Pure Switch concept is the DESS® screw, as it is identical to the original and perfectly interchangeable. Below you can see a perfect comparison between two screws.
The geometry of our screws is the same as the original ones. This includes the footprint for the original screwdriver tip, seat angle, diameter, length, metric, above others.
The material used to produce DESS screws is Titanium grade 5 obtained through cold work, which gives them greater resistance to masticatory loads. Also, some of them have different surface finishes, like TIN or DLC, to avoid loosening. All DESS® screws are tested to verify their proper performance. The resistance test applied to the screws is a 50% above their real use torque.
100% Compatible with leading implant systems
DESS healing abutments are a biocompatible and cost-effective solution for gingival healing and adaptation. They are manufactured in different heights and available with leading implant systems to deliver total flexibility while providing a perfect fitting prosthesis. All healing abutments are made of Grade 5 ELI Titanium and contain laser markings to easily handle and identify the measures as well as the implant platform, reducing the risk of mixing.
DESS Multi-Unit Abutments are manufactured using Pure Switch technology with additional features that optimize strength and handling for screw retained prosthetics. They are available in a variety of connections and versions consisting of straight non-engaging and angled engaging heights to accommodate different gingival thickness.
The Desktop Scan Abutments from DESS are manufactured in a durable and radiopaque PEEK material and features the SelectGrip® technology, an enhanced retention surface treatment that improves overall retention up to 500%. The scan abutments higher position orientation shape provides technician with maximum visibility. Eliminating the screw hole from the scan abutment design also eliminates the need to use a screwdriver, eliminates any scan distortion and the captive screw facilitates easy and safe manual positioning, cleaning, and autoclaving.
DESS® screws are manufactured using the Pure Switch concept that matches the exact geometry, material, driver and torque values of the branded implant system ensuring a perfect fit. The screws are designed to ensure the perfect fit with both the standard accessories as well as with special CAD/CAM systems for structures, bridges and custom abutments. Also available are longer, different sockets, heads with flat contact face, all these versions aim to improve the structures passivity and fitting.
Some DESS® screws are also available in DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) coated version. In this version the screw is coated with a hard carbon layer to provide a low friction surface, improving the preload of the screw and producing a high clamping force between the abutment and the Implant.
DESS patented screwdrivers combine the best of the parallel & the conical screwdrivers. All DESS screwdrivers are manufactured in Stainless Hardened Steel for increased durability and wear resistance.
DESS® Screwdrivers:
This biocompatible and cost-effective solution for short-term and long-term temporary crowns and bridges contains horizontal grooves designed to save time and increases retention of restorative materials.
DESS TiBases are manufactured using SelectGrip® technology a patented surface lasered treatment that ensures greater adhesion of the structure with the cement. DESS® Ti Base are indicated for use with milled zirconia or final casted metal crowns in metal or zirconia and available in both engaging and nonengaging versions for single and multiple restorations. Dimensions and design ensure a stable union, reinforcing the structure of zirconia in the areas of greatest stress, softening edges and ensuring the service life of the prosthesis.
Models are available in three different gingival heights for most of the implant connections in diameters NP, RP and WP for both, single tooth prosthesis (engaging) and multiple teeth prosthesis, dental bridges and hybrids (non-engaging).
Two different heights are also available for the Multi-Unit® connection:
The perfect solution where you need to angle the screw channel. Thanks to the uniquely shaped profile an angled screw insertion of up to 25° with full torque can be achieved. The AURUMBase® is made of Titanium Grade 5 ELI and is gold-anodized improving the esthetic demands. SelectGrip® technology is applied to the retention surfaces and the design is incorporated to the official DESS® CAD libraries from 3Shape®, Exocad®, and Dental Wings®.
There are clinical situations where the long-axis of the implant results in an unfavorable location of the screw access hole. To solve this and maintain the screw retrievability the AURUMBase® allow you to move the access hole to a more favorable location by angling the screw channel up to 25° in any direction. This is achieved using a uniquely designed screw and driver that also makes it possible to reach full recommended torque even at maximum angulation. The same screw connection and driver is used for all DESS® platforms which limits the number of components and tools.
Feature and Benefits:
The DESS® C-Base® components are manufactured in Titanium Grade 5 ELI, and with 15 implant compatibilities and more than 180 references, is the most comprehensive offer of compatible Cerec® Ti-bases on the market. The “Pure Switch†concept by DESS® provides dental technicians with an improved solution to be used under the Sirona digital workflow with Sirona® libraries* or available in DESS® libraries for 3Shape, Dental Wings & Exocad.
*C-Base is 100% compatible with the original Dentsply Cerec Sirona System, allowing you to continue to use Original Cerec ScanPosts and In-Lab libraries.
